Troop Cookie Tracker

Privacy policy

Last updated October 31, 2026

Troop Cookie Tracker is made by Northpine Labs LLC ("we"). It is built for the adult volunteer who runs a troop's cookie sale. This page says, in plain words, what happens to the information you put in.

Your season stays in your browser

  • The troop name, girls' names, packages, payments, booths and close-out notes are saved in your browser's storage on your device. They are not sent to our server. The one exception: when you buy the season pass, the troop name goes with the payment to Stripe (see Payments).
  • The tracker asks only for a girl's first name and last initial, or initials (up to 20 characters). It never asks for a last name, address, age, school or photo, and you should not type them in.
  • PDF and CSV exports and the season file are built on your device and saved where you choose.
  • Clearing your browser data, or the "Erase season" button in Settings, deletes the season from that device. We cannot recover it, so download the season file if you want a copy.

Receipts you send to families

A receipt link carries one family's entry and balance inside the part of the address after the "#". Browsers do not send that part to any server, so the receipt is not stored by us; it exists in the message you send. The receipt page loads no analytics.

A leader summary link (paid) works the same way: every girl's name and balance ride inside the link, so send it only to your troop leader. That page loads no analytics either.

Children

Children do not use the tracker; the adult cookie manager enters everything. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and the only information about a girl the tracker holds (a first name and initial) stays on the manager's device.

The baker's site

We never ask for your eBudde or Smart Cookies login. When you check your numbers at close-out, you paste totals in yourself. The baker's report lists girls' full names, so what you paste stays on that page only: it is not saved with your season.

Payments

The season pass is paid through Stripe Checkout. Stripe collects your card details and email under its own privacy policy; we never see your card number. The troop name from your season goes to Stripe with the payment: it names the purchase, and with your checkout email it lets you restore the pass on another device. To confirm the pass, your browser keeps a signed cookie with the Stripe checkout reference (sent only to our pass check, never to analytics), our server asks Stripe whether it is paid, and the payment counts how many devices the pass was opened on.

Analytics

We use PostHog to count how the site is used: pages visited and actions such as "planner used" or "payment logged", with your council and the size of the plan. We do not send girls' names, families' balances, receipt contents or payment references to analytics, and text on the screen is masked. Session recordings, heatmaps and surveys are off. PostHog sets a cookie to tell visits apart and receives your IP address, which it turns into a rough location. If your council is not listed and you type its name, that name is sent (with any digits or email addresses removed) so we know which guides to add. Cloudflare, which carries the site, may count page loads without cookies, never on receipt or leader pages. Our hosting provider and Cloudflare see standard request data such as IP addresses to keep the site running and safe.
